Ukrenego Offers Insight into Energy System and Power Outages on January 1, 2025
Ukrenego has shared an update on the energy situation and power outages expected on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. In a statement released through the "Kyiv Digital" app, the company reassured users that no planned power cuts are scheduled for the day. This is due to sufficient electricity production meeting both residential and business needs.
"Electrical power is ample, so no outages are anticipated tomorrow," reads the message. "To support the energy system, consider conserving energy by limiting usage between 5 PM and 11 PM, and again from 6 AM to 11 AM."
However, the situation may change at any moment, and updates will be provided accordingly.
Ukraine’s Energy Landscape
Ukrenego recently announced the lifting of power rationing schedules, though businesses remain unaffected due to ongoing energy system recovery from 13 significant Russian airstrikes in 2024. This comes amid European energy market shifts, with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico threatening to halt electricity supplies to Ukraine following the European gas transit’s cessation after January 1, 2025.
