Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has donated 18 sacrificial cows to Southeast Sulawesi Province for the observance of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri/2026.
Distribution Across the Province
According to Muhammad Taufik, the Acting Head of the Provincial Food Crops and Livestock Service, the number of donated animals remains consistent with the amount provided last year.
“As many as 17 cows will be distributed to 17 regencies and cities in Southeast Sulawesi and the rest will be distributed at the provincial level,” Taufik stated.
The designated recipient areas include Kolaka, East Kolaka, North Kolaka, Bombana, Konawe, South Konawe, North Konawe, and the Konawe Islands. Other recipients are Muna, West Muna, Buton, North Buton, South Buton, Central Buton, Wakatobi, Kendari City, and Baubau City.
Priority for Local Livestock
The administration is prioritizing the selection of animals from local breeders within each recipient regency, and city. This approach ensures that the livestock adhere to established provincial criteria.

“We will prioritize that they come from local breeders, with a minimum weight of 800 kilograms and in good health,” Taufik explained.
Next Steps and Monitoring
Field monitoring is currently underway to verify that all proposed animals meet the necessary health and weight standards. An official announcement is expected to follow once these evaluations are complete.
Depending on the results of these inspections, the final selection of livestock may be adjusted to ensure all criteria are fully satisfied before the start of Eid al-Adha.
