Owners of Properties on "Todor Kableshkov" Boulevard Blockade New Section’s Opening
The owners of properties on "Todor Kableshkov" Boulevard have blocked the opening of the newest section of the boulevard by parking their vehicles on it. Today was scheduled to be the day when the "Todor Kableshkov" Boulevard from "Louis Ayers" Street to "Cherni Vrh" Boulevard would be opened for traffic. The newest section of "Todor Kableshkov" Boulevard will have three lanes in the eastbound direction (from "Louis Ayers" Street to "Cherni Vrh" Boulevard) and three lanes in the westbound direction (from "Cherni Vrh" Boulevard to "Louis Ayers" Street).
However, in the section of "Todor Kableshkov" Boulevard between "Gatyo Shishkov" Street and "Ivan Andonov" Street, traffic is restricted to one lane in each direction due to an incomplete court procedure regarding the expropriation of a private plot of land, as reported by BNT.
One of the property owners, Iilia Milvanov, stated, "We parked our cars on our own property because nothing has happened in three meetings with the municipality."
Marlin Nachev emphasized, "We demand fair treatment because no expropriation procedure has been initiated for our property. We own an ideal part of the entire property, with a sixth of it being 1688 square meters."
The owners are blocking the newest section of the boulevard until they receive clear guarantees and fair compensation for the use of their properties. The municipality and the owners are in ongoing negotiations to resolve the issue.
