Title: Posten Handles Over 21.5 Million Parcels in December; 18 Still Unaccounted For

The Christmas rush at Posten has been unprecedented, with the Norwegian postal service handling over 21.5 million parcels at its Østlandsterminal alone so far in December. Despite the impressive numbers, there are still 18 parcels with unknown recipients or senders yet to be accounted for.

Petter-Børre Furberg, CEO of Posten Bring, praised the tireless efforts of his staff during this busy period. "It’s been a hectic but incredibly fun Christmas season. Our employees have truly gone above and beyond to deliver parcels and post to all corners of Norway to ensure a Merry Christmas for everyone," he said.

The Vest Østlandsterminal at Lørenskog, Posten’s main distribution center, has seen over 21.5 million posts sent out this month alone. On average, over 2 million parcels are handled daily at Posten’s pick-up and delivery points. The use of Posten’s parcel lockers has also surged, increasing by over 100% compared to last year.

However, even with the vast majority of parcels accounted for, there are still a handful that have slipped through the cracks. Posten’s ‘Santa Claus’ – the organisation’s internal reference to its tracking system – has failed to locate 18 parcels, either due to unknown recipients or senders.

Posten encourages anyone who recognises these parcels to come forward. Images and information about these parcels can be found on the Posten website’s ‘Santa Detektiv’ feature. The company is hopeful that with the public’s help, every parcel will find its way to the right recipient in time for Christmas.
