Leisure Boat in Distress: Rescue Operation Launched in Fedafjorden
A distress call has been received for a leisure boat experiencing engine trouble in the Fedafjorden, off the coast of Flekkefjord. The rescue operation is currently underway, with the rescue vessel ‘Erling Skjalgsson’ en route to assist.
"At around 17:05, we received information about a person on a boat with engine failure in Fedafjorden," said Eivind Bø, rescue leader at the Southern Norway Regional Rescue Center, to VG. "The ‘Erling Skjalgsson’ was quickly dispatched to provide assistance. The weather conditions are favorable, with light winds and good visibility."
The rescue operation is ongoing, with the leisure boat currently located in the fjord. The initial report was made by a concerned individual on land.
