Bandung – The University of Education Indonesia (UPI) continues to investigate the cause of a fatal fall that claimed the life of one of its students at the Gymnasium, on Thursday (26/12/2024).
UPI’s Directorate of Public Relations (P2M) Chief, Suhendra, confirmed that the university is coordinating with local police to determine what led to the student’s death.
"I’m still coordinating on this matter," said Suhendra when contacted by a journalist. The victim, identified by her initial ‘AM’, was a student of UPI’s Community Education Department, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FIP).
The incident was discovered when the student was found unresponsive on the floor of the building. UPI’s Emergency Response Team was immediately notified, and efforts to revive the student were unsuccessful. The victim’s body was later taken to Sartika Asih Hospital in Bandung.
"We are still trying to determine the cause of the incident," Suhendra revealed. He also mentioned that the university is cooperating with local authorities to shed light on the matter.
This unfortunate event has once again highlighted the importance of campus safety and urged universities to puzzled over preventive measures to ensure the well-being of their students.
