Russia‘s Casualties in Ukraine: Mobile Forces Suffer Heavy Losses

According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia has lost a staggering 98,641 mobilized soldiers between September 21, 2022, and October 31, 2024. This grim toll is based on Russian occupation data.

The greatest losses among mobilized troops were sustained by:

  • Group of Forces "Center": 21,710 casualties
  • Group of Forces "West": 20,155 casualties
  • Group of Forces "East": 16,770 casualties
  • Group of Forces "South": 16,465 casualties
  • Group of Forces "Dniepr": 10,449 casualties
  • Group of Forces in Zaporizhzhia region: 10,120 casualties
  • Group of Forces "North": 2,972 casualties

Ukrainian intelligence notes that these figures do not include losses among Russian contractors, conscripts, mercenaries, and other regular formations.

Russia’s Overall War Losses

It’s crucial to remember that the Russian regime conceals its military losses in Ukraine and fails to disclose casualties among private military contractors and other paramilitary groups.

According to Ukraine’s General Staff, Russia has lost over 768,000 soldiers since the start of the full-scale war. Additionally, Russian opposition media outlets report significant losses among Russian army officers.
