In a revealing statement, Alexander Daniilenko, head of media interaction for the ‘Gart’ border brigade, hinted at Russia’s potential to retry a northern incursion in the Kharkiv region, despite ongoing and significant losses.
Speaking on Ukraine’s Suspilne channel, Daniilenko affirmed the deal, "The enemy has enough forces to attempt another breach in the northern part of Kharkiv Oblast, as they did last May. However, their efforts so far have resulted in substantial losses of personnel and equipment."
The Russian offensive on this front, Daniilenko added, consists of near-constant redeployments, but these advances come at a hefty cost. The enemy’s daily losses tally around 100 personnel and corresponding equipment. This high toll suggests a desperate attempt by the Russian forces to break through the Ukrainian line of defense.
Indeed, Russia’s numerous offensive attempts in this area have met with a stiff Ukrainian resistance. Prior reports indicated that troops from the Third Separate Storm Brigade captured an enemy group comprising Telegram subscribers of the Veryussian brigade. Moreover, the brigade’s unmanned aerial vehicles have successfully destroyed Russian military infrastructure, setting fire to various weapon caches and other equipment.
Daniilenko’s statement comes on the heels of reports of escalating hostilities along the Kharkiv front, a crucial battleground in Ukraine’s bid to reclaim its territories. Even as Russia continues to regroup and reinforce its units, Ukraine remains vigilant, actively guarding against renewed attempts by the enemy to force aaken the security cordon in the north.
In the game of attrition, it’s Ukraine that holds the advantage, demonstrating dogged resilience in the face of Russia’s relentless – and increasingly costly – military gambits.
