Slovak Television and Radio (STVR) will offer viewers and listeners exclusive broadcasts of matches from the UEFA European Football Championship for players under 21 years old in 2025. These will take place entirely in Slovakia.
The championship will take place from June 11 to 28 at eight stadiums in the cities of Bratislava, Trnava, Nitra, Dunajská Streda, Žilina, Trenčín, Košice and Prešov. Sixteen teams from all over Europe will play a total of 31 matches. All matches will be available free of charge on STVR’s public service platforms.
“Sport is one of the pillars of public service broadcasting. We see the U21 European Championship as an opportunity to show viewers that STVR has the ambition to bring top events not only in terms of quality of transmission, but also of social significance. Young sport is dynamic, inspiring and full of strong personal stories,” said STVR General Director Martina Flašíková.
STVR will broadcast all 31 matches – live or from a recording. In the case of concurrent matches, it will broadcast content on :Šport and Dvojka. Matches will also be free on the website in Full HD quality. Content can also be viewed free of charge via antenna (DVB-T). STVR channels are also broadcast by all TV operators on the market.
The matches will be commentated by Marcel Merčiak, Ľuboš Hlavena, Michal Jantoška, Tomáš Kotlárik and Peter Zagiba. Commentary will be provided by former footballers and coaches such as Vratislav Greško, Peter Hlinka and Ján Kocian. Football studios with moderators Oľga Konečná, Tomáš Kotlárik and Ľuboš Hlaven will also guide viewers with preparations and analyses.
