Breaking News: Severe Traffic Accident on E10 Lofast; Bus Partially Submerged, 60-70 Injured
Emergency services are currently en route to the scene of a severe traffic accident on the E10 Lofast highway, following reports received around 2:00 PM on Thursday. Initial information suggests that a bus is partially submerged in water.
In an update from VG, Nordlandssykehuset has sounded the disaster alarm and deployed local emergency services in addition to their own resources. The emergency rescue vessel, SAR Queen, is also making its way to the scene from Bodø.
The gravity of the situation is underscored by the establishment of a crisis team by Vågan municipality. According to Hovedredningssentralen, around 60 to 70 people are believed to be involved in the incident.
