Breaking News: Severe Weather Alert Issued for Buenos Aires and 11 Other Provinces
The National Meteorological Service has issued a level yellow alert for parts of southwestern Buenos Aires province and regions in Salta, Jujuy, Tucumán, Catamarca, La Rioja, San Juan, Mendoza, San Luis, Córdoba, La Pampa, and Río Negro. Residents in these areas should brace for isolated storms, some of which could be intense, with heavy rainfall, gusts exceeding 60 km/h, occasional hail, and electrical activity.
Precipitation accumulations may reach between 20 to 35 mm, with localized instances exceeding this range. In Mendoza, the alert has been elevated to orange, indicating an increased threat of severe storms with heavy rain, intense electrical activity, hail of varying sizes, and gusts potentially surpassing 90 km/h. Accumulated precipitation could reach 40 to 70 mm, with localized instances surpassing this range.
