In a brazen attack during the New Year’s celebration, Iran-made "Shahed" drones managed to evade air defense systems and come close to striking the Presidential Office in Ukraine’s capital.
Maryana Bезуглая, a member of parliament from the Servant of the People party, revealed this alarming news on her Facebook page, as reported by Censor.NET. She attributed the incident to systemic issues within the Ukrainian military, including the lack of a layered air defense system in Kyiv and other cities, as well as the redeployment of mobile fire groups to infantry units, which has reduced their numbers.

Earlier, Censor.NET reported that the drone strike resulted in debris falling in two districts of Kyiv, with two fatalities and seven injuries.
The incident raises serious questions about Ukraine’s air defense capabilities and underscores the ongoing threat posed by Iran’s military support for Russia.
