Heads Turned as First Babies of 2025 Arrive in Argentina

The dawn of 2025 brought joy to various maternity wards across Argentina as the first babies of the year made their grand entrances. Among these tiny newcomers were Valentín and Guillermina, who took their first breaths at the Maternidad "Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes" in Tucumán.

Valentín, weighing an impressive 3.9 kilos, graced the world exactly at the stroke of midnight, making him the first baby of the year in the province. Just moments later, Guillermina, a 3.7-kilo beauty, joined her fellow New Year‘s baby via cesarean section.

The infants’ proud parents, Camila Micaela Santillán and Karen Maldonado, alongside their precious bundles, are doing splendidly, as confirmed by the maternity ward’s director, Dr. Alberto Agote.

Meanwhile, in San Juan, another baby made a late-night appearance at the Hospital Rawson, 36 minutes past midnight. Born to parents from the Chimbas department, this little one is the product of a full-term 40-week pregnancy. Though details are scarce, we send hearty congratulations to the growing family.

Catching up with the New Year’s spirit, the city of Córdoba also welcomed its first baby of 2025. Valentina, weighing 3.5 kilos, arrived at the Maternidad Provincial Juan Bautista Bustos at 0:36 hours. Baby Valentina and her mother are both in excellent health, as reported by the center’s director, Dr. Luis Ahumada.

In other news, the Hospital Universitario de Maternidad y Neonatología and Hospital Materno Neonatal also felt the New Year’s baby buzz, with their first arrivals coming in at 1:17 hours.

The arrival of these precious lives has not only marked the beginning of 2025 but has also ignited hope and joy across Argentina. Here’s to the tiny triumphs and boundless potential these little ones bring!
