In a devastating turn of events, an avioneta with the registration XB-MLO crashed in the municipalities of Santa María del Oro and Quitupan in Jalisco’s southeast region, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon near a spot known as El Montoso, where the aircraft was performing surveillance activities before suddenly crashing.
Emergency services from Quitupan arrived at the scene, confirming the fatalities of six individuals. However, due to the remote location and poor communication, the cause of the accident remains unknown. The aircraft was completely destroyed, also sparking a fire in nearby trees and bushes. Rescue teams are working diligently to contain the blaze.
