Gus Miftah‘s Criticism Revives Debate on Ustaz Maulana’s ‘Ceramah’ Tariffs
The topic of ceramah tariffs has once again sparked public interest following a commentary by renowned figure Gus Miftah, which took aim at the preaching style of Ustaz Maulana, known for his catchphrase "Jamaah oh Jamaah."
In his remarks, Gus Miftah critiqued Ustaz Maulana’s approach, suggesting that it lacked dignity and was too segmented when delivered on camera. Gus Miftah, who is known for his candid opinions, shared his thoughts on the trend of ceramah styles in a recent engagement.
According to Gus Miftah, the phrase "Jamaah oh Jamaah" has become a signature of Ustaz Maulana’s ceramahs, which he believes should not be a defining trait of a Kyai from the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) organization.
Gus Miftah emphasized that a competent preacher should deliver dakwah with utmost devotion and humility, not in a fragmented manner. He further stressed that a genuine NU preacher should exemplify dignity, especially when presenting dakwah on television.
In a subsequent statement, Gus Miftah quipped, "In the mornings, around half past five, what’s often on TV? ‘Jamaah oh jamaah’—that’s the idol of the day, with a style liked by many."
This критика has reignited the debate surrounding Ustaz Maulana’s ceramah style and tariffs, with many waiting to see how the prominent preacher will respond to these growing criticisms.
