Recently, netizens have once again taken issue with Gus Miftah’s alleged dig at Ustaz Maulana’s preaching style. A TikTok user, @indraaa461, shared a clip where Gus Miftah appears to poke fun at Ustaz Maulana’s signature greeting, "Jamaah oh jamaah."

"Those are the kind of idols people have these days," Gus Miftah is heard saying in the video, as reported on Wednesday (19/12/2024).

He went on to question the appropriateness ofistrous leaders asking for installments, "Is it fitting for NU’s kyais to be asked for installments like that?"

This is not the first time Gus Miftah’s fees for preaching have come under public scrutiny. A Twitter user, @Stakof, recently revealed that Gus Miftah charges a flat rate of Rp75 million for 1.5 hours. This revelation sparked comparisons with other clerics’ fees, with @Stakof suggesting that Gus Miftah’s rate is significantly higher.

Adding to the controversy, @Stakof hinted that the Rp75 million fee does not cover additional expenses. As the debate surrounding Gus Miftah’s fees and comments continues, it remains to be seen how this will affect his public image and career.
