Teenage Trio Viciously Assaults Cyclist in Gravelines; Stolen Bike Described
In a disturbing turn of events, a man riding his bike around 1:30 AM near De Aagtenpoort, Gravelines, encountered three men who would change his morning drastically. As he passed through the spoortunneltje, he was verbally assaulted by the trio. The confrontation escalated rapidly, with two suspects jumping on a scooter and giving chase. They caught up to the cyclist, viciously kicking him off his bike before fleeing with it.
The victim managed to escape but was left with injuries to his leg and face. The attackers, three teenage males, fled towards the Spoorsingel with the stolen bike. Immediately after the assault, the victim encountered a man and a woman who witnessed the crime and urged them to contact the police.
The stolen bike is described as gray with a distinctive pink saddle cover. Authorities have released the suspects’ descriptions, seeking the public’s help in identifying and apprehending the teenagers responsible.
Suspects’ Descriptions
- First Suspect: Approx. 17-19 years old, lightskinned, stocky build, approx. 1.80-1.85 meters tall. He was wearing a dark-colored tracksuit and a light gray cap.
- Second Suspect: Also approx. 17-19 years old, lightskinned, and approx. 1.80-1.85 meters tall. He was dressed similarly to the first suspect, adding a long, black jacket that fell to his hips.
- Third Suspect: Approx. 17-19 years old, lightskinned, and approx. 1.80-1.85 meters tall. He wore a dark blue ‘V’ lettered tracksuit top and dark blue-sided track pants. His hair was short, with a straight fringe.
Authorities urge anyone with information or who may have seen the suspects or the assault to come forward. They are also searching for CCTV footage and witnesses in the surrounding areas of Spoorsingel, Aagtenpoort, and Zeesterpad.
