As of 4 PM local time, the heaviest combat is ongoing in the Kursk region, with 42 engagements, 12 of which are still active. Since dawn, Ukrainian forces have reported a total of 114 engagements across various fronts.

Ukraine’s General Staff of the Armed Forces (GS) has provided a morning update on the latest developments along the front lines, detailing aggressive enemy actions and notable Russian losses.

Intense Fighting on the Northern Front

On the Harьkovskoe direction, Russian forces relentlessly targeted Ukrainian positions in the Volchansk area, launching three separate assaults. On the Kupiansk-Severnyi sector, Russian troops mounted four aggressive attacks, focusing their efforts around the towns of Gусchkovka and Losova.

Pervasive Enemy Activity Across the Front

In total, Ukrainian forces engaged in 158 battles and weathered over 4600 shellings throughout the entire front line, as reported by the GS.

Ukrainian forces repel Russian attacks on the Harьkov front; civilian areas hit

The Ukrainian General Staff reported late on December 24th that Russian forces launched an attack near the border, in the village of Vysokaia Yaruga, north of Kharkiv. The village lies between Goptovka and Gлубокое, on the opposite side of the Travyans’ke Reservoir from Gлубокое.

The General Staff stated that enemy units attacked Ukrainian positions four times in the Volchansk and Vysokaia Yaruga areas on the Kharkiv direction. This comes as the Russian army conducted 19 attacks within the past 24 hours on the Kup’iansk direction, striking areas around Petropavlovka, Kolesnikovka, Zahrіzovo, and Lozova.
