Ukraine Urges Citizens to Limit Use of High-Consumption Home Devices
The Ukrainian energy system continues to recover following Russia’s widespread missile and drone attacks last year, yet there are no plans for power outages on Thursday, January 9. "Ukrenergo" announced this in the "Kyiv Digital" app.
In a Telegram channel update, "Ukrenergo" reported that as of 9:30am on Monday, January 8, electricity consumption was on par with the previous day, Tuesday, January 7.
The company called on citizens to limit the use of high-energy consuming household appliances, especially between 5pm and 11pm, and between 6am and 11am. These include electric stoves, washing machines, water heaters, and air conditioners.
"Remember, the Ukrainian energy system is still rebuilding after Russia’s attacks. Repairs and replacements are ongoing to restore damaged and destroyed equipment," the company stated.
While tomorrow remains planned without power outages, the situation is still fragile. Ukrainians are urged to conserve energy where they can, contributing to the overall stability of the power grid.
