In a shocking turn of events, police have arrested a married couple, both 39, identified by their initials I.G. and K.S., for allegedly hosting and selling videos of secretive swingers sex parties without the consent of participants. The events, which involve partner swapping, were held in both Jakarta and Bali.

"The problem here is that the organizers, without the attendees’ consent, have been selling and distributing videos of these sex and partner swapping events," explained Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, the Head of the Public Relations Division of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, in a statement to reporters on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

Indradi revealed that participants were not charged any fees and did not receive any compensation for their involvement in the swingers parties. The police described the attendees as having unconventional sexual preferences.

"We have reason to believe that the party organizers are catering to the fantasies of those with unorthodox sexual preferences," said Indradi, adding that the organizers did not receive any payment for their services either.

One of the suspects, K.S., has already been taken into custody at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police’s Cyber Crime Directorate. Investigations are ongoing.

The case was uncovered by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police’s Cyber Crime Directorate after they discovered an online advertisement promoting a partner swapping event on a website. The website, SW**com, was used to recruit participants for the swingers* parties in Bali and Jakarta.

Indradi stated, "The case we are currently investigating involves the distribution of electronic documents through a website that contains invitations to sex parties and partner swapping events."

I.G. and K.S. have been suspected of organizing these events for at least 10 times in total, with eight instances taking place in Bali and two in Jakarta.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in 2024 has decreased significantly by 50.4% compared to 2023, dropping from 202,962 to 100,666 cases. Deaths have also decreased, from 441 in 2023 to 57 in 2024.

Title: Indonesia‘s Motor Vehicle Owners Face Two New Taxes Starting Today

Effective today, January 5, 2025, Indonesian motor vehicle owners are bracing for two new taxes outlined in the Government Regulation No. 1/2022 concerning State Financial Balance between the Central and Regional Governments.

The first tax is an additional tax (tax on top of the existing tax) for Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB), and the second is an additional tax for Motor Vehicle Ownership Fee (BBNKB). Both taxes will be integrated into the Annual Motor Vehicle Tax column on the Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK).

With these additions, there will be a total of seven components that motor vehicle owners need to pay while registering a new vehicle: BBNKB, additional BBNKB, PKB, additional PKB, Donations to Disaster Emergency Logistics Agencies (SWDKLLJ), Vehicle Registration Admission, and Motor Vehicle Tax Admission Fees.

As a result, motor vehicle STNKs will have two additional biometric cost columns, which could potentially increase the cost of motorcycle ownership.

For instance, if a motor vehicle is currently charged a PKB of Rp1,000,000, the additional PKB tariff would be Rp660,000 (66%), increasing the overall PKB to Rp1,660,000.

These new taxes must be paid concurrently with the regular Motor Vehicle Tax.
