13-Year-Old with Down Syndrome Missing for 10 Days: Bulgarian Military Joins Search Efforts
The hunt for 13-year-old Nikolai from the village ofKonare continues. The boy, who suffers from Down syndrome, has been missing since December 17.
On Monday, the search operations received a boost with the involvement of teams from the Second Mechanized Brigade of the Land Forces, as announced by the Ministry of Defense.
Soldiers from the 31st Mechanized Battalion in Haskovo and the 42nd Mechanized Battalion in Yambol are assisting in the search using drones.
The military joined the search, led by the Ministry of Interior, on December 24 following a request by Interior Minister Atanas Ilkov and with the approval of Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov.
So far, the search has been unsuccessful. While Nikolai’s dog was found, it provided no leads to the boy’s whereabouts.
The villagers and authorities remain determined to find Nikolai, and the public is urged to report any information that could help in the search.
