Pisogne’s NewMultifunctional Sports Palace: A Game Changer for the Province
The people of Pisogne, Italy, are gearing up for the grand opening of the PalaRomele, a modern, state-of-the-art sports palace that promises to transform the way the community approaches fitness and leisure. The facility, which was raised from the ashes less than a year ago, will officially kickstart its operations on New Year’s Day with a spectacular gospel concert by the "Spirit of New Orleans."
The PalaRomele, a shining example of innovative construction inspired by the structures of Northern Europe, is designed with energy efficiency in mind. It boasts 400 sitting capacities in its tribune, with simplistic, easy-to-maintain furnishings. The venue is equipped with four spogliatoi (locker rooms) for teams and officials, an infirmary with direct ambulance access, a doping control room, restrooms, a dedicated space for sports associations, a storage area, a bar, and an elegantly designed entrance foyer. Additionally, an outdoor green space will be integrated to serve the nearby schools and the palace itself.
"Soon, we’ll be kicking off with the show and then starting regular use from January 4 – internasamente, we will complete the external works in February, followed by the internal bar. I just can’t wait for everyone to experience it," says Pisogne’s Mayor, Federico Laini. He is confident that the PalaRomele will be "the most beautiful palace in the province."
The PalaRomele‘s creation cost around €5.5 million, with funding coming from various sources, including a €2 million regional grant under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, a €2 million loan from the municipality, and resources from the GSE and Law 145/2018.
The construction progress is swiftly moving towards completion, with internal works now at 100%. Some external trimmings are still pending, but work is scheduled to wrap up by the first half of February. Despite this, the team is eager to start activities even before the finishing touches are complete. The first event, a free-entry gospel concert, is set for New Year’s Day at 6 PM, followed by regular operations for team training, matches, and school programs from January 4 onwards.
