The NVWA, the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority, has received nearly 50 complaints from distressed owners, with 13 dogs having passed away.

Following an initial report by the AD, an NVWA spokesperson confirmed that they are actively investigating the potential connection between Barkoo chews and the canine fatalities. "We take these reports very seriously," the spokesperson said. "The safety of pets and their owners is our top priority."
