Breaking News: Two TNI AL Members Involved in Bos Rental Mobil Shooting Incident
The tragic shooting incident that claimed the life of a rental car business owner at the Rest Area KM 45, Tol Tangerang-Merak has continued to grab public attention. In a surprising turn of events, it has now been revealed that not one, but two members of the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) are involved in the case and are currently undergoing legal proceedings with the Navy Police (Puspomal).
Kepala Seksi Humas Polresta Tangerang, Ipda Purbawa, confirmed that the police have coordinated with Puspomal regarding the handling of the case. "We are working with Puspomal who will conduct further investigations into the matter," Ipda Purbawa stated.
The incident occurred on Thursday early morning, January 2, 2024, around 04:00 WIB. The victim, Ilyas Abdurrahman, was shot and killed at the Rest Area. His son, Rizki Agam, recalled the chain of events leading up to the fatal shooting.
On January 1, the rental company received information that the GPS of a rented Brio car had been turned off. Rizki and seven members of the rental team, including his father, began searching for the vehicle. They managed to locate it in the Pandeglang area, Banten.
As they attempted to repossess the car, one of the suspects identified himself as a TNI AL member and suddenly pointed a pistol at Rizki’s father. Another car, a Sigma, arrived and rammed into one of the rental employees, causing him to fall onto the road. Despite this, the team persisted in pursuing the suspects until they reached Pantai Anyer.
At Pantai Anyer, the suspects briefly stopped for about 15 to 20 minutes. Rizki and his team then sought assistance from the Cinangka Police Station, located approximately 2 kilometers away from the scene. However, their plea for help was unsuccessful.
"Due to the presence of a firearm in the mobile, unfortunately, the Cinangka Police Station could not assist us at that time," Rizki explained.
The chase ended tragically at the Rest Area KM 45 Jayanti. The suspect in the Sigma car fired five shots at the rental team, killing Rizki’s father instantly and injuring Ramli, another rental employee, in the chest and shoulder. "The suspect in the Brio car identified himself as an AL soldier, and the pistol that was initially in the Brio car was later transferred to the Sigma car, which was used to shoot at us," Rizki revealed.
The Commander of the Navy Police (Danpuspomal), Mayjen Yusri Nuryanto, confirmed that both suspects have been apprehended. "The perpetrators have been arrested at the Puspomal site," he said.
The Chief of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), General Agus Subiyanto, also commented on the incident. He emphasized that the TNI will take firm action and uphold the rule of law. "If the suspects are found guilty, they will face severe penalties," he added.
