"Exposing Global Corruption Figure: Profiling Habib Rizieq and His Impact on Indonesian Politics"

Breaking: Hardline Islamic Leader Demands Joko Widodo‘s Arrest Over Corruption Allegations

Habib Rizieq Shihab, former leader of the IslamistDefenders Front (FPI), has issued a strong statement calling for the arrest of former Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) over alleged corruption. Rizieq urged the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to take immediate action and asked current President Prabowo Subianto not to protect his predecessor.

"I insist that the KPK must arrest Jokowi. President Prabowo should not protect Jokowi. He should join the public in taking Jokowi to jail," Rizieq declared on Monday (6/1/2025).

Rizieq also called on President Prabowo to join forces in eradicating corruption in Indonesia.

"This time, we urge Prabowo to take action. Let’s pray that Prabowo isn’t just talk," he added.

Rizieq’s statement comes after a report suggested that Jokowi is included in a list of the world’s most corrupt figures. However, there’s currently no official confirmation or concrete evidence to support these claims.

The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) recently listed Jokowi among the finalists for the world’s most corrupt persons of 2024, alongside figures like Kenyan President William Ruto and Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Responding to these allegations, Jokowi questioned the claims and demanded concrete evidence. He stated that many unfounded accusations and slanders are directed towards him.

As the political landscape in Indonesia heats up, all eyes are on the KPK and President Prabowo as they decide their next course of action in light of these serious allegations.
