Tottenham led against Crystal Palace.

Then they completely collapsed in the first half and were booed off the pitch.

Several fans had had enough and left the stadium before halftime.

First-Half Collapse Signals Deeper Issues

Did you reckon it couldn’t get worse for Tottenham?

It did.

Tottenham took the lead in the 34th minute, creating some breathing room. But the players barely had time to catch their breath before the nightmare began.

Micky van de Ven initiated the downfall, receiving a red card for bringing down Ismaila Sarr in the penalty area. Sarr converted the penalty, leaving Tottenham to defend with ten men until halftime.

They failed to do so.

Fan Discontent Reaches Boiling Point

Jörgen Strand Larsen scored to make it 2-1 and in the seventh minute of added time – just before halftime – Sarr added another, making it 3-1.

This prompted widespread discontent among the home fans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Several left the stadium before halftime, and loud boos echoed from the stands.

Swedish Players Observe From the Sidelines

The second half saw no further goals, but the damage was done.

Tottenham lost 1-3 and haven’t won in eleven league matches, sitting just one point above West Ham in the relegation zone.

“We have to work hard and believe. After today, I believe more than ever. I know it sounds strange, but I saw something with the team. Even in the dressing room after the match. When we are complete, and have the right players, I think it will be quality,” said manager Igor Tudor to TNT Sports.

Television cameras focused on injured Swedish duo Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall in the second half, who appeared unimpressed with what they were witnessing.

The boos continued after the final whistle.
