Heavy Snowfall Disrupts Traffic on ‘Trakiya’ Motorway Towards Sofia
A Focus user on Facebook reported a truck has turned over, blocking traffic towards Sofia on the ‘Trakiya’ motorway. The incident occurred near the ‘Traянovi Vrata’ tunnel, shutting down both lanes. Witnesses blame the ongoing snow clearance operations on the motorway.
Earlier, the Public Road Infrastructure Agency warned that heavy goods vehicles over 12 tons, including those with trailers and semi-trailers, were temporarily restricted on the motorway from km 69 at the "Cerovo" junction towards Sofia due to snow clearance operations.
They also warned of temporary restrictions for heavy goods vehicles over 12 tons from km 0 to km 55 on the ‘Trakiya’ motorway in both directions, citing snow clearance as the reason.
