Urgent: Explosions in Dnipro Disrupt Healthcare and Education Services
Dnipro, Ukraine – In a recent turn of events, Dnipro has witnessed numerous powerful explosions, leading to mass evacuations and disruptions in essential services. A massive Russian attack on Ukraine has resulted in significant damage and outages, according to local news reports.
One of Dnipro’s city hospitals, housing over 100 patients, is being evacuated due to the lack of heating caused by the rocket attack. Mayor Boris Filaotv confirmed the situation, stating that patients would be redistributed to other healthcare facilities in the city.
Currently, eight kindergartens in the Prikarpatskyi district are without heating and unable to accept children. However, Mayor Filaotv expressed optimism that kindergartens in the Solnechny district may remain open.
Schools in Dnipro are operating in a emergency mode due to the winter holidays. Despite the challenges, Mayor Filaotv urged residents to support one another, stating, "We are not giving up. Helping each other. Wishing everyone peace, dear Dniprians."
Earlier today, DTEK announced an attack on its thermal power plants, and unfortunately, there have been casualties in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast as a result of today’s rocket attack. Moreover, a DTEK energy worker lost their life during the recent attack. In Dnipro, an administrative building was damaged, a nine-story building’s windows were shattered, and a private home sustained significant destruction.
As the situation unfolds, Dnipro residents continue to face challenges and disruptions in healthcare and educational services. The city and its residents remain resilient in the face of adversity.
