Ukrainian Rescuers Evacuate 14 People, Save Elderly Woman After Russian Strike Damages Residential Buildings
Emergency services in Ukraine have successfully evacuated 14 people and rescued an elderly woman following a Russian strike that left several residential buildings damaged in the village of Svecsa, Shostka district.
The strike occurred in the afternoon, resulting in significant damage to a five-story apartment building. The attack destroyed an entire staircase from the fifth to the first floor, affecting four multifamily residential buildings in total, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES).
Preliminary reports indicate that 10 people, including two children, sustained injuries due to the strike. Despite the damage, rescue workers continue to conduct recovery and search operations in the affected area. On-site, two permanent checkpoint stations funded by local authorities remain operational.
As the situation continues to unfold, Ukrainian emergency service personnel remain dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of those in need.
