Tragedy on Pandaan-Malang Toll Road: Four Dead, Including School Students from West Java
Jakarta – A tour bus and a truck were involved in a fatal collision on the Pandaan-Malang Toll Road (Arah Surabaya) at KM 77.4, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. The bus, carrying a middle school group from Gunung Sindur, Bogor, West Java, was among the vehicles involved.
Bambang Tawekal, the Head of the Bogor Regency Education Office (Kadisdik), expressed his condolences over the incident and is coordinating with the school authorities. "We are deeply saddened by this incident and are actively coordinating with the school," said Bambang.
As of now, Bambang is still receiving updates about the incident and has not received any official reports on the victims’ conditions.
Earlier reports from detikJatim confirmed that four people had died in the accident. The victims were rushed to nearby hospitals, with some taken to Prima Husada Sukorejo and RS Medika Lawang. The collision occurred around 15:40 WIB, prompting Jasa Marga Pandaan-Malang and local police to respond immediately.
Videos circulating online show the tour bus with a red front panel suffering significant damage, with the truck’s cargo spread across the road, blocking the Malang-Surabaya lane. Jasa Marga Pandaan-Malang has since implemented a traffic diversion due to the accident.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
