Trump‘s "Border Czar" Plans Large-Scale Deportations, Seeks Congressional Funds
Tom Homan, whom Donald Trump designated as the "border czar" of his next administration, has announced plans to execute large-scale deportations of undocumented immigrants. Speaking on "The Source," Homan revealed that these plans hinge on receiving sufficient funding from Congress.
"Everything depends on the funding I get from Congress," Homan said. While he remains uncertain about the precise amount the Trump administration will seek from the Republican-led House and Senate, Homan didδος reveal plans to seek additional support.
Homan also suggested that he would enlist the help of the military to transport immigrants. "They’re not going to be arresting people, but they can be a force multiplier to do the things we need to do that don’t require a badge and a gun," he said.
Trump unveiled Homan’s appointment last month, stating that the former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) would oversee all aspects of border security, including the southern and northern borders, maritime, and aviation security.
Homan, who is still working on the plan for Trump’s administration, expects to be ready to launch on inauguration day. He emphasized that the government would prioritize deporting criminals, gang members, and fugitives. Although he didn’t mention a specific number, Homan made it clear that his goal is to deport as many undocumented immigrants as possible.
"Whoever is here illegally, you’re not off the table," Homan said. "It’s a crime to be in this country illegally."
