According to police reports, Ketan Agarwal was murdered on June 18 after being pushed into a valley from Lohagad Fort in the Sahyadri range. The suspects are his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her lover, Chetan Babulal Chaudhary. The incident was initially presented as an accidental fall during a trek. Police investigations suggest a pattern of premeditation, noting that Siya Goyal made several attempts to bring the victim to the fort. On June 14, four days before the killing, police allege that the fiancée attempted to push Agarwal from a cliff, though he managed to grasp a bush and survive the initial encounter by accepting her explanation that she had acted to protect him from a snake.
