Ukraine‘s volunteers/” title=”Ukrainian Legion in Poland: Ambassador Details Number of Volunteers”>Ukrainian Legion: A Success Story in the Making
A seasoned diplomat recently commented on the progress of Ukraine’s Ukrainian Legion, a volunteer force comprised of Ukrainian citizens residing in European countries. The diplomat, who chose not to specify the exact number of volunteers who have arrived in Ukraine for training, acknowledged that the process is ongoing and progress is being made despite some political pushback and Russian propaganda efforts to portray it negatively.
"The Ukrainian Legion is a story of success," the diplomat asserted. "We are working to ensure this information is accessible worldwide, from Europe to across the Atlantic. While we wish the recruitment process could be faster, it’s proceeding as planned. We can only encourage volunteers, as this is an entirely voluntary initiative."
Volunteers are currently being trained on Ukrainian military ranges. The diplomat highlighted that the legion aims to provide satisfactory training to its volunteers, reassuring citizens that they will receive adequate preparation.
The Ukrainian Legion was established following Poland’s agreement to form a unit composed of Ukrainian citizens living in Europe. Volunteers are currently undergoing training in Poland, with the Polish government committing to providing them with necessary weaponry. Earlier reports indicated that within just one day of launching the recruitment process, 196 Ukrainians expressed interest in joining the legion.
