As the final working week of December begins, Ukraine is set to experience a mix of weather conditions, with rain, snow, and varying temperatures across different regions. The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued its forecast for the week.
Monday, December 23: A Tale of Three Parts
Ukraine will be divided into three weather zones on Monday. The west, including Lviv, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Volyn, and Rivne regions, will experience rain and snow. The central and eastern regions, including Dnipro, Kharkiv, Luhansk, and parts of Donetsk, will see rain, while snow is not ruled out in Sumy and Poltava. The rest of the country will remain dry.
Temperatures will peak at +8°C in Odesa, with the west experiencing the coldest conditions, ranging from -1°C to +1°C. In Kyiv, temperatures will hover between -3°C and +2°C, with no rain expected.
Tuesday, December 24: Rain Shifts Westward
Tuesday will see rain moving westward, with snow and rain expected in all western regions, including Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, and Odesa. The rest of the country will remain dry. Odesa and Donetsk will experience the highest temperatures, reaching +8°C. The west will be the coldest, with temperatures dropping to -1°C in some areas. Kyiv will be dry, with temperatures ranging from 0°C to +4°C.
Wednesday, December 25: Rождество Brings Mixed Weather
On Rождество (Christmas Day), rain and snow will hit the central regions, with rain expected in the south, excluding Crimea, and snow in the west, excluding Rivne and Volyn. Crimea will be the warmest, with temperatures reaching +12°C. The west will be the coldest, with temperatures ranging from +1°C to -1°C. Kyiv will be dry, with temperatures ranging from -1°C to +3°C.
Thursday, December 26: Widespread Rain and Snow
Thursday will see rain and snow across much of Ukraine. Snow is expected in the Carpathians, Zakarpattia, and Chernivtsi. The north, including Kyiv, will remain dry. Crimea will be the warmest, with temperatures reaching +8°C. The west will experience the coldest temperatures, dropping to -3°C. Kyiv will be dry, with temperatures ranging from -1°C to +3°C.
Friday, December 27: Cold and Dry
Friday will be dry across Ukraine, but temperatures will dip, with ‘minus’ temperatures expected in many regions overnight and during the day. The south will be the warmest, with temperatures peaking at +4°C. Kyiv will be dry, with temperatures ranging from -3°C to +2°C.
