Title: Venezuelan Gang Member Disguised as Woman to Evade Police After Brutal Kidnapping in Aurora

Article:

AURORA, CO – In an attempt to evade authorities, a Venezuelan gang member reportedly dressed in drag and donned a wig to hide his true identity last week, according to local officials. The suspect, 20-year-old Niefred Serpa-Acosta, is said to have been masquerading as a woman while police were investigating a brutal kidnapping and torture case in the Denver suburb.

The unusual scene unfolded at The Edge at Lowry apartment complex, where officers were conducting a search for suspects involved in a recent malicious abduction and assault. Authorities were tipped off to Serpa-Acosta’s true identity when the man’s deep voice gave him away, according to Aurora City Council member Danielle Jurinsky.

"This takes transnational gangs to a whole new level," Jurinsky quipped to The Post.

Serpa-Acosta’s bizarre attempt to escape detection came just months after he presumably fled police in August, following a viral video that showed heavily armed gang members, believed to be part of the Tren de Aragua crew, barging into an apartment at the same complex. After ransacking the residence, the group opened fire on an unidentified individual outside the building.

Authorities later revealed that Serpa-Acosta had previously been deported from the United States but managed to re-enter the country illegally.

With this latest incident, authorities are cautioning Colorado residents about the widespread and increasingly brazen activity of foreign gangs operating within the state. As the search for Serpa-Acosta continues, anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact local law enforcement.
