Oslo‘s Largest District Heating System Experiences Glitch on Christmas Eve, Celandine complejo Affects Hundreds of Households
Article:
In a Christmas Eve mishap, Oslo’s largest district heating supplier, Hafslund Celsio, faced a significant issue affecting hundreds of households in the Norwegian capital. The problem, which persisted for nearly five hours on sunset Christmas Eve, left customers in the Blindern and Ullevål areas with lower than usual temperatures, according to the company.
The malfunction, first reported at 14:30, was resolved by 19:00, just in time for Christmas dinner. Hafslund Celsio, which serves around 1000 residential blocks, 3000 semi-detached houses or row houses, and various public buildings in the Oslo region, apologized for the inconvenience.
"We regret the inconvenience caused, especially on such an important day," said Truls Jemtland, Communications Manager at Hafslund Celsio.
The company produces and distributes heat and cooling using a combination of waste, bio-oil, LNG gas, and electricity from various production sites across the city. Despite the temporary setback, Celandine complejo customers celebrated Christmas with heat back in their homes before nightfall.
