Poles Foil Russian Tactic in Upcoming Presidential Election

Poland‘s deputy prime minister, Krzysztof Gawkowski, revealed today that the country’s intelligence agencies have uncovered a group inspired by Russia‘s GRU, allegedly planning to influence the 2025 presidential election slated for May 18.

In a statement, Gawkowski asserted that the group’s activities involve "information warfare" and "recruitment of content manipulators." He warned that these "Russian agents" could jeopardize the unity of Poland’s political landscape.

"Russia is leading a hot cyberwar against Poland," Gawkowski said, claiming his country is the most targeted in the European Union. "We are proud to be the most attacked, but we are also ready to defend ourselves," he added.

The news comes amidst recurring allegations from Warsaw of capturing "Russian agents" predominantly comprising Belarusian and Ukrainian citizens residing in Poland.
