Headline: Ukraine Braces for Chill as Warm Spell Nears End
Article:
Brace yourselves, Ukraine! The mild weather that’s been gripping the country is about to give way to a chill. Renowned meteorologist Nataliya Didenko revealed on her Facebook page that the toasty conditions we’ve been enjoying will stick around until January 10, after which a cooling trend is set to take hold.
Mark your calendars for January 11, folks. That’s when the mercury is expected to start dropping, bringing with it nighttime temperatures dipping into "small negatives," as Didenko put it, and daytime highs ranging from -2°C to a balmy +3°C. Not quite polar vortex territory, but definitely a reminder that winter is here.
Ukraine’s weather this week is shaping up to be predominantly warm and wet, but the first signs of winter’s return could arrive next week. This is according to Angelika Gandchuk, head of the numerical modeling and forecasting sector at the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
Before you dust off your snowmen-making skills, note that significant snowfall isn’t forecast just yet. Gandchuk shared that while some western regions might see snow flurries due to cooler temperatures expected over the weekend, the rest of Ukraine should brace for typical winter weather, not an extreme cold snap.
A cyclonic system is set to sweep across Ukraine this weekend, delivering rain and snow to the western regions. So, pack your umbrella and stay tuned for more weather updates!
