Road Rage on ‘Struma’ Highway: Olympic Champion Carlos Nasar Calms Angry Mob
In a dramatic turn of events, Olympic weightlifting champion Carlos Nasar found himself in the midst of a road rage incident on the ‘Struma’ highway near Dragichevo on Thursday, January 2. Around 3:00 PM, several vehicles swerved onto the emergency lane, with irate women and men exiting their cars.
A heated altercation ensued, with witnesses reporting chaotic scenes of screaming, cursing, and physical altercations. Among the witnesses was Nasar, who remained calm and attempted to pacify the enraged women. The entire incident was captured on a dashboard camera, with the date, time, and location clearly visible.
It is believed that the other drivers accused the camera-equipped vehicle’s driver of reckless driving, posing a threat to everyone’s safety during the post-holiday traffic, as reported by ‘Trud’ newspaper.
Within hours, the video amassed thousands of views online, sparking debates about Nasar’s presence. Commenters praised his composure, with one saying, "It’s good he didn’t join the fight, he could’ve taken them all down, including the men." Another commented, "He embodies the spirit of a sportsman – calm and collected. The hysteria is typical of the weak."
