WWE will hold the 40th annual Royal Rumble at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Saturday, February 6, 2027. The event kicks off the road to WrestleMania 43, featuring 30-man and 30-woman battle royal matches that award the winners a world championship opportunity at the marquee spring event.
Royal Rumble 2027 Date and Venue
WWE officially confirmed the return of its signature event to Arizona, marking the third time the state has hosted the Royal Rumble. Following previous editions in 2013 and 2019, the 2027 installment will occupy State Farm Stadium in Glendale. The February 6 date makes this the latest calendar placement for the Royal Rumble in the history of the event, and it serves as only the second time the show has been held in the month of February.

The event remains a single-night premium live event. While there had been internal discussions regarding a potential expansion to a two-night format, those plans were reportedly deferred, with the promotion focusing on a one-night structure for 2027. The upcoming show serves as a critical milestone for the company’s North American audience, particularly as WrestleMania 43 is scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in April 2027.
State Farm Stadium, which opened in 2006, is owned by the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority and managed by Legends Global. The venue has a history of hosting major global spectacles, including Super Bowl XLII in 2008, Super Bowl XLIX in 2015, and Super Bowl LVII in 2023. Additionally, it has hosted the 2010 WrestleMania, the 2016 CFP National Championship, and the NCAA Final Four in 2017 and 2024.
Friday Night SmackDown and AAA Road to Rey de Reyes
WWE is expanding the weekend’s offerings with a “double event” scheduled for Friday, February 5, at the nearby Desert Diamond Arena. This showcase will feature both Friday Night SmackDown and the AAA Road to Rey de Reyes tournament. Notably, the 2026 edition of the Rey de Reyes tournament held in Puebla, Mexico, was the first to take place under WWE’s ownership of the promotion. Furthermore, the AAA Road to Rey de Reyes event is slated for the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale during the Royal Rumble weekend.

The Three-Year Partnership with Arizona Sports & Events Alliance
The selection of Glendale is part of a broader seven-event, three-year agreement established in May between TKO Group Holdings, the Arizona Sports & Events Alliance, and Legends Global. This deal marks the first time TKO has entered into an agreement with a state-level organization spanning UFC, WWE, PBR, and Zuffa Boxing. The initiative unites civic, business, tourism, and Native American leaders with governing bodies to deliver experiences for fans.
The event is expected to highlight rising talent. The Royal Rumble has historically functioned as a star-making showcase for emerging Superstars, with fans looking to see which competitors emerge from the fray. In the previous year, Roman Reigns and Liv Morgan were victorious at the Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, eventually securing the World Heavyweight Championship and the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42.
Premium Live Event will be headlined by the 30-man and 30-woman Royal Rumble matches, with the winners each receiving a championship match opportunity at WrestleMania® 43.
