Title: Conflict"</strong></p>”>Zelenksy‘s Christmas Message: The Spirit of Unity in the Face of Occupation

President Volodymyr Zelensky marked Christmas by reminiscing about Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych, who wrote the iconic "Shchedryk" (also known as "Carol of the Bells") in Pokrovsk, a city now under threat from occupying Russian forces. In his video address, Zelensky starkly contrasted the creative spirit of Ukrainians with the destructive intent of their invaders.

"The divine music composed in Pokrovsk stands in stark contrast to the evil that Russia brought there," Zelensky remarked. "We strive to create, while others seek only to destroy. We want peace and justice, the simple joy of living on our land under our own sky. But for some, ‘peace is boring,’ and they crave conflict."

Zelensky recalled Putin’s recent comments about Russians yearning for "drama." He noted, however, that Ukrainians find their strength in unity, not discord. Despite the ongoing conflict, Ukrainians celebrate Christmas together, whether in person or in spirit.

"This year, once again, we celebrate Christmas as one," Zelensky said. "Whether we’re together or apart, we’re united in love and support for each other. This unity, this warmth we share, is the true spirit of Christmas."

Zelenksy’s message underscores the resilience and determination of the Ukrainian people in the face of adversity, using the sacred holiday as a reminder of their shared humanity and resolve.
