Headline: Płowdiw‘s Kindergartens Get New Directors; Many Interim Leaders Retain Posts

In a recent development, 11 kindergartens in Płowdiw have appointed new directors following competitive recruitment processes. In most cases, the interim leaders will continue in their roles, as they were among the top 15 candidates for the 13 kindergarten posts. Notable absentees from the list are "Zorizza" and "Perunika" kindergartens, which will remain without permanent directors.
This recruitment followed Płowdiw Municipality’s announcement last June of a contest for 13 kindergarten directorships. The initiative, spearheaded by Deputy Mayor Vladimir Temelkov, aimed to infuse new, modern teaching methods into the city’s kindergartens by inviting young specialists to take leadership roles.
Candidates were required to have at least five years of teaching experience, a master’s degree, and the necessary qualifications for teachers, directors, and other pedagogical specialists. After submitting documents, candidates underwent a two-part evaluation process: a test and an interview involving case studies and a strategic management concept presentation.
In total, 16 candidates applied for the 13 positions, with one applicant not being accepted. Here are some of the successful candidates:
- In "Mir" Kindergarten, the current interim director, Gencho Bivolarski, came in second, with Tania Todorova winning the post.
- Galina Nedueva will continue leading "Chervenata Shapchitsa" Kindergarten.
- Elica Genova and Elena Vasilieva, the current interim directors at "Miroslava" and "Natalia" kindergartens, respectively, won their competitions.
- Desislava Toteva retained her director’s role at "Kosmonavt" Kindergarten, while Anastasia Karamanoleva and Teodora Nachava will lead "Detelina" and "Svetla" kindergartens, respectively.
- Dočka Popova won the director’s position at "Malina" Kindergarten, and Boyka Palijska will head "Daga" Kindergarten.
- Finally, Violenka Dimova and Elena Nikolova were selected for " Alben" and "Ralitsa" kindergartens, respectively.
These changes aim to bring fresh perspectives and innovative teaching methods to Płowdiw’s kindergartens, enhancing the educational experience for the city’s youngest residents.
