The new East Meadow location operates daily to accommodate patients needing immediate medical attention without an emergency room visit. Dr. Neal Shipley, medical director at Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care, stated that the organization opened the site in response to heavy patient demand at nearby facilities. The center sits inside The Meadows development, positioned next to a Flagstar Bank and Stew Leonard’s.
“People who may have been traveling to Levittown or another nearby location for care, can now get care closer to home,” Shipley said.

According to Darwell, these centers help local hospitals by diverting less severe medical problems away from overcrowded emergency rooms. She also noted that non-hospital settings deliver care more cost-effectively, lowering overall expenses for patients and regional health systems alike.
