Hasto, who is close to PDIP’s chairperson Megawati Sukarnoputri, accused Jokowi of being misleading and misinterpreting his previous remarks. He maintained that his comments were taken out of context and stressed that PDIP remains committed to the health and progress of Indonesia.

In a swift response, PDIP hit back at Jokowi’s denial, supporting Hasto’s stance. Meanwhile, Golkar Party chairman Bahlil Lahadalia seized the opportunity to reaffirm his presidential ambitions, stating that his nomination was merely delayed.
