A fire broke out late Thursday evening in a five-unit apartment building in Sem, outside Tønsberg, as reported by Sør-Øst police district. The blaze was first reported at 23:09, and firefighters quicklyotaen worked to contain the spread and ensure the safety of the residents.
All apartments were searched by smoke divers, and a woman present in the unit where the fire started was transported to the hospital for examination. Another person from a neighboring apartment was also checked at the medical center.
At 23:40, operations leader Espen Reite from the police revealed that the fire department’s efforts were focused on preventing the blaze from spreading to two more apartments. At 02:37, the fire department announced they had gained control of the fire.
Unfortunately, two apartments were completely destroyed, and the remaining three are uninhabitable for the night. The fire investigation will continue into the morning. The apartment building is a municipal property, and the displaced residents have been accommodated in another municipal facility nearby.
