Raids in Durango Lead to Seizure of Chinese Goods
An extensive operation conducted on Thursday, January 2, 2024 by federal and state authorities resulted in the closure and confiscation of at least two retail stores selling merchandise of Chinese origin.
This operation follows a similar raid in the city of Tijuana, where officials-reportedly seized products worth approximately 320 million pesos. In Durango, the operation began around 11:00 AM, with around 700 personnel, mainly from the National Guard, assembling on Avenida Manuel Gómez Morín and deploying to various stores in the area.
The targeted stores included one on Capitan Francisco de Ibarra, near the Instituto Tecnológico, and another on Bulevar Francisco Villa and Haiti. No arrests or injuries were reported.
Authorities expect to release more details about the raids soon.
