CHRISTMAS EVE saw churches across Flekkefjord packed with worshipers, a testament to the enduring allure of classic Christmas traditions. Despite the digital age, many still find solace and relevance in the story of Jesus‘ birth and the message of peace and hope it carries.
Daniel Tønnessen, a local resident, echoed this sentiment. "For me, Christmas is about more than just gifts and feasts," he said. "The story of Jesus’ birth, the sense of community in the church, it’s all incredibly meaningful."
Pastors across the region have reported an increase in attendance this year, with many regulars and even first-timers filling the pews. Reverend Petra Johannessen of Flekkefjord Church noted, "It’s heartwarming to see so many people, old and young, coming together to celebrate Christmas in this traditional way."
