The Bulgarian Mountain Rescue Service (BMRS), part of the BRC, received a distress call from the Ministry of Interior (MVD) and swiftly sprang into action.
The BMRS successfully completed the rescue operation, pulling the family to safety amidst challenging weather conditions. The BMRS provided insights into the current state of tourism in the Bulgarian mountains, describing it as "dire". Heavy snowfall, with accumulations exceeding one meter at higher elevations, coupled with a high risk of avalanches, posed significant threats to visitors.
