Snow has hit the Sofia region today, with 108 machines, including those servicing the "Hemus," "Traкия," and "Struma" traffic-nightmare-escalates-more-roads-closed-at-expanded-interchange-rtv-rijnmond/” title=”Traffic Nightmare Escalates: More Roads Closed at Expanded Interchange – RTV Rijnmond”>motorways, working to keep the roads clear. As of now, there are no closed sections or imposed restrictions. However, temporary limitations for vehicles over 12 tons may be implemented if necessary, according to Eng. Kremian Sakanski, Director of Sofia’s Regional Road Management.
Current priority is the clearence of motorways and first-class roads. Second and third-class roads might experience delays, but all are passable at present. Yesterday’s snowfall led to slow-moving traffic and even some stuck cars and trailers near "Trayanov Vrata" on the "Trakiyа" motorway, and similar conditions on the "Hemus" motorway, with vehicles moving at around 50 km/h. Snow removal and road treatment on both motorways were delayed.
