Former Controversial Damkar Depok Employee’s Contract Not Renewed
The viral figure, Sandi Butar Butar, who gained prominence due to his ‘room tour’ video highlighting the dilapidated state of Depok’s Firefighting and Rescue Services (Damkar) equipment and later raised allegations of corruption at Damkar Depok, is no longer employed by the service. His contract, which began on November 10, 2015, was not renewed upon expiration on December 31, 2024.
A statement of service from the Fire Department with the number 800/140/PKTT/PO.DAMKAR/I/2024 confirmed the end of Sandi’s tenure. The statement reads, "Masa kerja sejak 10 November 2015 sampai 31 Desember 2024. Alasan berhenti (yaitu) tidak diperpanjang kontrak. Kami mengucapkan banyak terima kasih atas usaha dan dedikasi yang telah Saudara berikan kepada Dinas Pemadam Kebakaran dan Penyelamatan Kota Depok."
Acting Head of the Operational Control and Fire Rescue Division, Tesy Haryanti, whose signature appears on the statement, verified its authenticity. She noted that two other officers also had their contracts not renewed, with both instances following a similar notification process. Tesy indicated that regular performance evaluations play a significant role in deciding contract renewals.
